Romantic Road

A triple harmony of nature, culture and hospitality has been characteristic of the Romantic Road since 1950. The route proceeds from Würzburg to Füssen. Another picturesque town has enriched the route since 2016: Wertheim.

From the Main to the Alps, through Tauber Valley, through the Ries, Franconia, Bavarian Swabia and the Allgäu region, past medieval cities to the royal palaces of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau – the 460 kilometres feature a never-ending stream of enchanting highlights. The Romantic Road connects 29 towns, including Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Dinkelsbühl, Nördlingen, Augsburg – and Wertheim as well since 2016.

Whether by car, caravan, motorbike or on foot: Take the time to explore nature, art and the regional cuisine along the Romantic Road. You can look forward to many of the most beautiful sights in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg!
