Wertheim is situated at a central location between the federal states of Bavaria, Hesse and Baden-Württemberg, offering great traffic connections along the East-West axis.
To reach Wertheim, take the A3 motorway,
exit: Marktheidenfeld/Wertheim (distance: 10 km) or the
exit: Wertheim/Lengfurt (distance: 10 km), or take the A6 and A7 that connect with the A81

There is a railways station and a cargo transhipment point in Wertheim. Wertheim is located along the Frankfurt/Aschaffenburg/Lauda/Bad Mergentheim/Ulm/Friedrichshafen line. Deutsche Bahn travellers taking an ICE or IC switch to public Transport to Wertheim in Würzburg, and it is an approximately 30 minute bus ride from there via the A3 motorway.
There is a Flixbus coach stop at Wertheim Village. From there you can take the free shuttle bus for the 15-minute ride into the old town.
Frankfurt International Airport is easily reached in around 50 minutes along the A3 (distance: 95 km). There are also fast motorway connections to Nuremberg Airport (150 km) and Stuttgart Airport (160 km).
Wertheim has an airstrip for microlight aeroplanes, where aircraft weighing up to 450 kg can land. Tourists frequently use this airstrip to fly in for a city trip to Wertheim.
